Thank you so much for your love and prayers for our ministry to the Lord as Music Missionaries with headquarters at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg, Texas.
I am still recovering from some serious ear surgery in early July. It was called a “tympanomastoidectomy” and consists of removing the accumulated cholesteatoma (skin cyst) from the middle and inner ear. We were aware of this problem that began in Guatemala and continued during our years in Mexico, but was brought to a head here in Texas. The M.D. (ENT) told us that it was urgent because it was an advanced case. It had already eroded some bones in the inner ear. An unrelenting pain in the jaw hinge and dizziness are still a constant bother. Arleen is changing bandages twice a day. Hearing is supposed to be as good or better in the future. Thanks for praying for this situation.
Yesterday we received a number of large boxes in the mail in time for our upcoming trip to Mexico for two music camps. Finally the long-awaited CDs we recorded with Old Testament songs arrived! Please remember to pray for the remaining New Testament songs to be recorded. It is going very slowly due to details like computer problems, academic pressures, ministry demands and family situations with those that are helping.
We need a good tenor sax to be donated to the seminary. A student from Honduras has a year of music conservatory wants to play one in an RGBI ensemble and our tenor sax is ancient and broken-down. His dad was our student in Guatemala thirty-five years ago!
Happily serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at RGBI on the Mexican border,
