We had a great fall semester. With students from South America, Central America, Mexico and the USA we feel like we’re living in Acts chapter 2 where the apostles ministered the Word of God to people from many different countries. Thanks so much for your prayers and gifts that make it possible to continue on the “front line” for the Lord Jesus here on the Mexican border at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in the Department of Sacred Music.
Here are two passages regarding our music that I have meditated upon lately. We love David’s admonition: “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy” The author of Hebrews writes: “Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service [of music] with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire” (Heb. 12:28-29).
Just days before Christmas when we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus, our new Spanish hymnal has now been printed with the help of many people. Can you tell that I am excited to hold this new hymnal in my hands that we have been working on for three years? There are over 160 pieces in this collection with at least one song or hymn from every book in the Bible. This should prove to be a valuable tool in Bible studies, worship and praise.
We are thrilled to have you as a co-laborer through your faithfulness in prayer and giving. Thank you! Please be praying for our RGBI students this Christmas vacation.
Faithfully serving our Lord,
