December 2007

It was 40 years ago on a frosty morning in Chicago that we left for Central America to serve the Lord as music missionaries in Latin America. Because of your love, prayers and gifts God has enabled us to minister in a number of places, but mainly Guatemala, Mexico and now on the Texas border at the Rio Grande Bible Institute. Students from many Hispanic countries are studying the Word of God at RGBI.

As you know, we are recording over 150 of the Spanish Scriptural hymns and songs we have composed and one of them has words from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Galatians (4:4-5) and could well be described as a great text for a Christmas carol:

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons (NKJV).

We hope you are a child of God and that in this Christmas season you can sing praises to the Lord Jesus, not only as your Creator, but as your Savior! Over 1/3 million are using “Celebremos Su Gloria,” the Spanish hymnal we helped publish, to worship our Triune God. In addition, our teaching has touched untold number of people in seminaries, schools, churches, camps and conferences.

Thanks for the important part you play in this ministry of getting the Word of God out, set to beautiful music. As J. S. Bach wrote on his musical scores: “To God be the glory!
